Our mission:

To inspire, enable, and equip individuals and families to grow a stable and livable lifestyle.

Thanks to a partnership with New Beginning Community Church, Mountain View Community Center hosts FREE month-long workshops created to help individuals find the tools and support needed to make positive and lasting changes to earn a livable wage. Volunteers walk hand in hand with clients to provide accountability and support, as facilitators and subject matter experts share valuable skills to enhance the client’s ability to live and work successfully. Topics of workshops include personal development, job training and skill building, and financial management. Classes are taught by the Direction’s Staff of New Beginning Church, in conjunction with dedicated volunteers and mentors.  Dinner, childcare, and class materials are all provided to attendees at no cost.

Quotes from previous participants:

  • “Being a volunteer with the Directions Program is a wonderful opportunity for me to invest in the lives of others. Serving as a Directions classroom facilitator is a very rewarding way for me to share with our Members what I have learned from my own life struggles, and provide them with some very valuable “life skills” that I have been blessed to gain through life. And as I do, I get the privilege of watching our Members grow, acquire new “tools” that they can use in their personal and professional lives, and get a renewed hope and vision for their futures.” –Directions Volunteer

  • “Directions has helped me tune in to my purpose in life. I learned to set goals that are meaningful, because they align with my mission. Now I get to live life making better choices by knowing I have purpose.” –Directions Client

The Directions workshops at Mountain View Community Center is made possible thanks to our partner, New Beginning Community Church, who owns and manages the New Directions Program. MVCC contracts with NBCC to provide workshops here at the Center.
